One Sunday they turned up in Reading broadcasting as Floss West from the University grounds. So I set off with the trusty radio and in a short space of time was heading straight for the TX where I saw some of the usual Floss crew waving at me from under a tree! So, after a while chatting I noticed some plod nearby and the next thing I knew was Mr Franklin of the Reading Gippo running down towards the transmitter shouting 'Radio Floss bites the dust!'
After a short while one of the plod approached us enquiring whether we knew anything about the TX under the tree whereupon we stated that we didn't understand what he was talking about. He replied that it was a bit pointless asking us!
Apparently the principal at the Uni was not impressed by the Gippo, or was it Buzby by then, raiding the station as it was on private university grounds.
Needless to say Radio Floss never ventured further West than Hillingdon after that.
