DAB multiplex 11A-D 12ABC were former PMR duplex frequencies. DAB should have been allocated 860MHz which JFMG licenced links for RSLs including 199.7 (block 10)
When Global stations moved to DAB+ there was no rush to buy compatible DAB receivers for AAC as most internet stations were streaming with
that Quality audio about the same tine. DRM also transmits AAC with bit-rate 19-32kb/ps
With Ofcom quoting 51%
they're just promoting what Global dictate to them.
small-scale DAB has been delayed more than 12 months in London & south eastern counties. DAB is now in the trough of it's own peak ^V
