will they could have used 90.8 but that is between radio's 2 & 3 & will be used by BFBS Gurkha Radio in dover. anyway did message Dover Community Radio on facebook & here is they replay (we transmit mono on 104.9 – several reasons for this, the main one being, if we were to be in stereo, it would cause problems on the fringe and weaker areas,
With Dover being as it is with coverage problems, this is the best option for now.
If we were to be in stereo, it also increased the price of the link licence, and it requires more bandwidth.
Of course, later in the time, we can look at these things and look at stereo operation, but for now, I think it’s the way to go.)
