It sounds like not much research was done then, as there's hardly any market on LW capable receivers in the RSA, much less an audience. But the TRAM rigs CAN be modded up to MW frequencies. That's a very expensive way of getting on air - there are dozens, if not hundreds, of decent units about, and for very little money.
