Hi Stephen, that rings a bell because like a lot of us, I imagine. I used to listen to Sweden calling DXRs and in late 1987 there was the the report of Radio Caroline testing on Shortwave. I have an elephant memory and can pretty much trunk remember the words

"There have been reports of Radio Caroline testing on Shortwave. Per Allerood (here name spelling guess there), here in Sweden has heard Caroline on 9940 khz at 20.00 hours. The programmes were a relay of the broadcasts on 558khz"

This was about November 87 and it was reported with great excitement in the 48m Andy Walker community of interest public houses. I recall Anoraks UK bulletin said that that the tests had been aimed at another country
