This video is very irritating yankee doodle dandy daddy fastalker but after watching it slowly several times I figured out the second loop is just a block of wood with a connector and the loop
Essentially it does seem to be the case that the bigger the better
My domestic fantasy island project is going nowhere fast. Although I think a move in the right direction would be try the old Saisho with the broken BFO and the insulated wire I used to just wrap around the broken telscopic stub and sling over kitchen hooks which pulled in all the Qrp I wanted. I can't think the noise floor in my situ has changed that much and then If I can hear say ham bands while checking on online SDRs I will know that that with a working receiver that antenna would work. I would go for the 9.1 balun though if only because it is a simple way of getting 1 length of wire into a position where it could with patch leads or connectors be connected to the dongle or a dedicated new radio with SMA
The dreaming continues aplenty
