Your experience with Chinese SDR Receivers
Posted by Augusta XIV on December 7, 2021, 10:27 am
Following the debate I started about antennas I would now like to ask about your experience with the various SDR receivers currently being manufactured by our good friends from China. Examples are ATS 20, ATS 25, ATS 100, Malacit/Malachite ( in various forms and prices) and other similar devices, many based on the Si4732. Some are complete, other are just a base circuit board. What has your experience been? How do they compare with more traditional receivers, for example, the Trio R-1000, Yaesu FRG models, Icom R70s, ex-military receivers and the like? I bought a XHDATA D-808 and I have been generally impressed by its frequency range, sensitivity and selectivity although there is some breakthrough from strong broadcast stations in unexpected places. Do you have experience of such a receiver that you would recommend (or otherwise)?
