Wellbrooks sound Interesting, How? are they remotely Tuned/ adjusted?
To avoid having a motorised capacitor, do they use high capacitance Varicap diodes ?
Impossible to copy?, tell that to our Dutch friends, who have Unpotted ALL of the Timing
modules, used by Bob Orban, in the Optimod, and his other products !
This Wellbrook model below is Interesting... Looks like using Heliax cable for the Loop
with I assume the idea, of making it a two turn Loop, by putting the Inner and Outer
In Series, by cross connecting the bolt on sockets, on the Insulated plastic box
This In Series idea Paul, was originally used for the CFL antenna you tested...
Problem with Wellbrooks is RX only, someone a good while back, made some really nice
Amateur band Loops, for TXing, The single turn loop, was made from like a piece
of Aluminium Mast, bent round in a huge Ring, at the top was a vacuum capacitor
in a Water proof housing, with a motor to tune it remotely
At the base was the fixing clamp to mast, along with the Coupling Coil for feeder
I Can't remember who made them, suppose the chinese have copied it, Anyone use one?
Fred, The Diagram of the Frame, on the Excellent Roland Beaney site
I think Is the Anoracks UK one, Its about Two Foot square, so a bit cumbersome on a desk
If anyone thinking of making a more manageable one, you can make the wood frame
around One foot across on the tabletop, and up to Three Foot high, with similar results
If the part standing on the desk, is made like a cross, It can stand upright, on it's own
The origin of calling them Frame aerials, was during the war, in German Occupied France
multiturn loop aerials, were built hidden in the back of Picture Frames, hence the name
Don't let MH get you down Paul, give him enough rope etc
