It's such a shame that this country (maybe most of the West) sees press balance as allowing only the presence of extreme opposites rather than encouraging an unbiased press that can be trusted to always be honest.
I usually buy one specific heavy Sunday newspaper but recently due to unavailability I bought the politically opposite heavyweight. It was obvious that the same 'facts' were being reported but with different, extremely biased, interpretations which led to 180 degree opposite headlines and conclusions, neither of which were actually true! Back to radio...If the BBC is to continue to be funded from public pockets, then a review must dig deep into their values and opinions, root out extremists of whatever belief and have a core of unbiased reporters and programme makers to ensure that they 'educate, inform and entertain'.
