I have recently come across LifeColor Royal Navy paint set for early War War 2 period. They are acrylic, the set of bottles of 6 colours used during this period.
Tried them out by brush and for our scale cover in a single coat with another if required. Can be airbrushed.
There is also a set for the Western Approaches, Italian and American navies.
I purchased my set for under £20 post free.Worth investigating.
