At the end of June, a friend and I enjoyed a visit to this superb little museum.

It is entirely run by volunteers who have an extensive knowledge of the exhibits and history of the Naval Base.

The highlights for me were the large scale model warships on display. The stand out model for me was the truly spectacular 1/72 model of the Ark Royal.In the main, the models are displayed in glass cases, with a notable exception being the 'Light Battle Cruiser' HMS Glorious.

If you are in the south west this summer I highly recommend visiting the museum - it's a real pleasure!
