Yes, of course I'll bring it up to Lincoln.

Since making the post earlier, I've been having a chat with someone who has local knowledge.

He has suggested that there might be a Bassett-Lowke connection. The suggestion is that B_L might have set up a rehabilitation centre for returning, disabled troops. Possibly men who were employees before being called up.

That antiques centre is only a quarter of a mile from the site of the Lowke factory so the model could have turned up in a house clearance lot.

It's an attractive and plausible idea but without a shred of evidence.
