At last, the CM Miniaturen models of the White Star Laurentic and HMS Laurentic as an AMC have docked at Antics. This ship has an amazing history as a trials ship to test the combined triple expansion engines and exhaust, low pressure, steam turbine coupled to a third, central shaft that was used for Olympic, Titanic and Britannic. The high speed of Laurentic was used by the Police to overtake the Montrose to arrest the murderer Dr Crippen when he arrived in Canada. The sinking of HMS Laurentic was an infamous shipwreck event and the salvage of the gold buillion from the wreck was one of the most epic salvage stories in histotry. In addition to the two versions created by CM, the White Star Laurentic can be used for Megantic, and could be converted to represent Megantic as a troopship in grey or dazzle camouflage or for the early AMC version of Laurentic with dark hull and light grey upperworks with unshielded 6in guns.
