New Model

I am starting to worry that some collectors are intimidated when I post about a batch of new models in a single posting, so Here is news of a new model at Antics from Albatros: USS Henry B. Wilson (Alk 724) and USS Cochrane (Alk724A). Now I know that is two models, but I have bought the last Henry B. Wilson model, so that only leaves USS Cochrane DDG 21 and there is only one left and in the UK we are wondering what to spend the money on that we have left at the end of this month! USS Cochrane is a Charles F. Adams class destroyer from the 1960s and is one of the latest models to arrive at Antics from Germany. For the last two years, Albatros has been filling the void on the market of post WW2 US Navy ship models left by Argos and before that by Trident. The warship models are painted in a single shade of grey overall with only small details picked out in contrasting colours, Navis Neptun style. In my opinion, this reduces the complaints that some people have made about the standards of painting on Albatros models and allows collectors to focus on the standard of and detail reproduced in the castings. Check out the photoraph on the Antics website, www.shipmodels.co.uk. It is that model that is for sale now.
