A quick look at the German eBay website shows that some sellers (e.g. sarge_2012) charge under 10 euros to post a model to the UK, whilst others charge four times that price. Seems to me some German sellers are milking the system.
I also note a couple of UK sellers charging well under 10 euros for posting models to Germany.
Its the old case of Buyer Beware!
