Firstly ‘Thanks’ from me & the visitors to all the stallholders who attended the event, it wouldn’t happen without you. (and also Jackie in the ‘Canteen’). It was also nice to see Dave Love & John Laing.
It was a hot Sunday on the Lincolnshire ‘Heath’ – something like 23C (we’re topping 26C today).
Door figures were certainly up on last year – into the 20s – I fear the days of 100+ attending ship shows are over, as are the days of spilling into two rooms.
Trading seemed to be good – I’m certainly not disappointed. As is usual I wasn’t able to give other peoples stalls the time that they deserved. Talking to a stallholder this morning, his comment was that the ‘customers’ were people who knew their subject.
As for the future, the hall is booked for Sunday 27th July, 2025 and all the 2024 stallholders are automatically invited. There is one caveat, however, and that is the one of age. Unfortunately we are getting older. When we first did the shows in Welton I was 30+ years younger and could happily sling tables about – now that doesn’t apply. Make the most of me whilst you’ve got me, and treat me gently – you won’t have me for ever!
