Two years ago, I promised I would respond to a query of “what did I think of the “Dorsetprintman” Type 26 frigates.
I’ve been stalled for all that time working out how to make the masts.
Looking at an image of the Albatros type 26, an inspiration came out of the blue – stopwatch brass taper pins and 2mm sequins!
At the same time (to a day) came the news that the Dorsetprintman was to produce the type 31 in 1/1200 – so this spurred me into action.

Well I like them.

I must admit I've added detail as it's become available, including the midships type 41 missile bay on the 31s.
I’ve made some (paper) helo deck markings using the Albatros Type 26 layout, but I’ve decided to wait and see what transpires before fixing them – ditto any painting beyond the primer.
