The New Old model is Coastlines German Auxiliary Tanker, Jan Wellem, of 1940 present at both Naval Battles of Narvik in 1940. This is old in the sense that it utilises the Mercator Master of the Whale Factory Ship, M527, but cast in S60 EasifloW resin and with fabricated masts rather than the generic masts supplied with the original Mercator models.
The New Old models are Conrad/Hansa models. About 15 years ago, Conrad announced that they were discontinuing Hansa models that were made for Collectors of ship models and moving to only producing Commission Models (for Shipyards, Ship Owners, Shipping Agents and the like). Examples of these commissions that were best known were the Stena Line models that were sold on board the ferries in 2013. Antics managed to get very small numbers of these models at the time and they are sharly cast and well painted but always in short supply unless you were involved in a lot of ferry travel. Antics have managed to buy a second-hand collection this week that includes one example of almost all the Stena Line ferries from the promotion, some of these were private purchases from the Conrad factory after the promotion on board ships had ended. You can see these on the Anticsonline website but you will have to be quick because Antics policy is to remove the listings quickly as soon as the models have sold out. Some of the other rare models in this collection that might be of interest are Queen Victoria by Scherbak, Dunkerque Seaways by Rhenania Junior, Oriana by Mercator.
