If you know that the plastic has been painted with acylics, ordinary "purple" meths can be used as a stripper. Just make sure you work in a ventilated area.

After stripping, you might need to clean out tiny gaps and overhangs with a fine pointed scriber. Finish off with a thorough wash in lukewarm water with some washing up liquid and an old toothbrush.
