I agree with your assessment of the stability of the new view but that was on my desktop. Today, on my laptop which has just undergone updates from Microsoft and Google/Meta, the picture is stable and on the header says that it is an experimental version of Earth and is asking for feedback.
I do hope that this new version will not replace the "Satellite" view which I find more useful when walking around coastal towns I have not visited before and when painting dioramas of coastal areas. I have been aware that for years Google has been replacing satellite photographs with photo-montages of aerial photographs.
