I have bought the kits that I have made up and have chosen liveries that fit my collection. I already have models of Dilwara in troopship white with blue hull band and wartime grey, so I have put Dilwara in the disguise that she operated under in November 1940 when delivering Australia troops to El Kantara. HMS Queen Emma is in grey as she was for the Lofoton Raid and Empire Halberd for Operation Neptune. You can see the results on the Antics website but I will take these photographic examples to the shipshows this year so that you can see the modelling possibilities from buying kits for yourselves.
For those of you who haven't seen the announcement, there is a small-scale Aifix kit of Titanic which has been released. The less welcome news is that it is in 1/1000 scale and part of a "Starter Set". Some of the other "News" from Hornby Hobbies is the wholesale discontinuation of Humbrol paint colours. One of the victims is Radome Tan that I have just chosen for Wilhelm Gustloff! Fortunately, a new range of "Aquaous Hobby Colours" by "Mr Hobby" has arrived in my local Antics shop in Tamiya-like jars and they do "Radome".
