Does anyone know what the correct colour of German KDF Cruise Ships were in the late 1930s? I have models of most of them but they have all been painted in different colours by the original makers.All seem to agree that the hull and superstructure are the same colour but that ranges from a very pale grey to a dirty sand colour via shades of cream, so they cannot all be correct!
I have completed the Wilhelm Gustloff model as a hospital ship for 1939-40 and as a troop ship for 1941-45 and photographs have been uploaded onto Antics website but I am holding back the KDF cruise ship version for now. I hope to have the next two "Mercators" out next month: Tacoma that collected the crew of the Graf Spee in the River Plate and Robert Ley.
