More new models at Antics

At last the CM models that were expected last November have arrived at Antics. Although they spent Christmas at a warehouse in Bristol, they were returned to Germany by the agents tasked with collecting the "Advance VAT". Fortunately, Carlo tried again and this time UK Customs issued their invoice so that Antics could pay the tax to get the parcel released. New to Antics models include the US WW1 troopship Von Steuben with a Destroyer painted on the hull to confuse U-boat captains, the German transatlantic liner Imerator, and the Swedish America line "Braheholm" and repeats of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary, Seawise University, HMS Caledonia (ex-Majestic), Berengaria, Vaterland (1914), Titanic, Franconia (1921), Beaverbrae (ex-Huascaren), and HMS Audacity in camouflage. From a garage find of second-hand models there is an almost complete set of Hornby Minic warships e with wheels and something I had never seen before last year, a 1/1200 scale waterline model of Titanic by Claytown Models. The model in Antics has been re-fitted with new masts and a white line between the red and black on the hull and the tan-coloured funnels have been repainted to White Star buff with black tops. In the next week or so there will be a second model from Coastlines from an original Mercator master. This time it is Kamerun.
