I'm afraid that I provoked this discussion because of some off-board exchanges trying to get to the bottom of the relationship between several of the model makers of resin models. Most resin 1/1200 and 1/1250 ship models have been made in Britain, not Germany, but the big exception is Hein Mueck where Ralf (is that the correct spelling?) Degen made resin models in Germany and after his death the range came over to Britain and were made (often with some refinements) by Wirral for the ships and Coastlines for the land-based models. There has always been interchange between individual model makers, even between makers of metal models... I am taking some models to Wellow this weekend which are not for sale (yet) but do illustrate some of the models that have been produced by combinations of the talents of more than one model maker. Who knows, you might learn something that will enable you to spot on-line auction bargains in the future.
