As someone entering my late 60s I have a fairly broad range of models in my collection accumulated over many years. Loosely they cover war and civilian shipping of the "Cold War" from 1945 to 1991 but with random other ships included on a whim.
Unlike most others here I am purely a collector. Doing badly what others do beautifully has never had any appeal and so I am grateful to all those who make my models.
My collection will never be complete. That is its beauty. Over the years I have paused and not bought any models for reasons of finance or other interests but I always return to it.
It is getting harder for dealers to attend physical shows like the one at Theale but also for many collectors the ease of the Internet is making the effort and costs of travel to a show more questionable.
Theale is my only local show (three agreeable bus journeys away) and I will be sorry to lose it. But I will understand if it happens. But I will continue to support Stuart and Slavi if they can continue with it.
