Corgi have made a serious error of judgement in my view in not producing this model as a water-line model. They have excluded themselves from most of the market for 1/1250 ships. The weight of the detached lower hull is approx the same as the upper hull (kitchen scales used!). All that mazac used where plastic would have been perfectly acceptable for the lower hull.

As for the Renwalls, I have a couple of the originals and will be getting a set or two of the re-issues. My interest is purely nostalgic - I would have loved them had they been avialable in the UK way back.
