It got me thinking what other scenery Triang might have made if it had decided to sell the Dover Cliffs to the public.
1964 was the year when Triang amalgamated with Hornby and Dinky and reduced its activity to railway sets and diecast cars (Dinky instead of Spot On).
Railway modelers lost a whole planned range of buildings including a Trident airliner in 1/72 scale capable of taxiing!
Background sheets for model railway layouts and displaying aircraft models could also be used for making a port diorama. The skyline of Hamburg or Rotterdam, Southamoton or Liverpool. Or a forest of cranes likes Clydeside or a container terminal.
