Are we now to assume that for each model one is not only standing on the pier but has a set of binoculars to hand?
I now focus on ships I have seen and photographed and have examined the four CNC produced models that I have with a magnifying class in hand. I am happy with those I have bought as for me they are a fair representative of the vessels and within my budget. I am not saying that they are totally flawless - but after this exercise, at least in my case, there is nothing that a very slight touch with a paint brush would not cure.
Other than HMS Forth I have not bought any of the warships so am unwilling to comment on the Type 23’s. The only thing I would say that give the quality of the castings and specifically the Viking logo on the Hjaltland Northlink ferry I was surprised by Jeff ‘s comments and his photographs. In that specific case there would seem to be a need for a review.
The bottom line is: Am happy with those I have bought, are they a fair representative of the vessels and within my budget? Yes. Perhaps the latter is a key element? Would I buy further models produced by CNC? Yes.
Indeed may I suggest that as a follow up to the Arklow Vs a ‘geared handymax ‘ bulk carrier?
