Although I cannot make models I am aware fully of the different processes used to create them.
Triang Minic ships have never been other than diecast, except for the lifeboat and masts!
White metal models have a separate and honorable tradition, as do plastic kit models. But they are not and never can be Triang Minic ships.
Of course a modelmaker can take a white metal, plastic or resin model and make it tesemble what a Triang model might have looked like. This is done here quite often.
I never buy a model without seeing decent quality photos or preferably the actual thing.
The packaging may be essential for most collectors. I only keep it if the model can be removed and put back in the package without damage to either. So sadly hardly any of my models keep their packaging.
In that sense I am entirely relaxed whether the model is described as Skytrex classic, Hansa Conrad or Yriang Series 4.
