I see very little understanding of diecast manufacturing on this board. It is totally impractical which is why these ships have been made the way they have. In the UK too.
It is made with the blessings of the other shareholders with whom I discussed the idea last year.
I dont usually say this but without my support Charles Shave would have stopped making things in about 2010. My funding, planning, consultation with customers led to a 2 year plan which ended with the type 45s. The special boxes were Charles' way of saying thank you. Charles and I had a fully costed and agreed 2 year plan for more ships including QE/POW, cross channel ferries, liquid gas tankers and more. Then he disappeared.
It is called Series 4 to inform the whole wide world that it is different but in the same spirit and scale and current price range. For those who take the trouble to read newsletters, updates and other information regularly posted the thinking behind the range is clear and honest.
NO ONE on any social media board is entitled to pour personal and derogatory abuse about my honesty, morality or integrity as has happened when supposedly posting about one example of a new range. So kindly learn the difference between what is fair and what is unacceptable.
I wonder why I bother to make anything at all when the majority of comment on this site about it is negative and often ignorant (ie wrong).
My experience of 40 years of collecting, trading and selling through toy fairs and swapmeets, then my retail hobby shop and for 20 years on the internet is that people are honest and pleasant all over the world.
If you do not like a model then do not buy it or return it if faulty. If you think that Triang Minic should be finished forever then create a separate discussion and behave in dinosaur mode.
It is not a matter of feeling or belief whether these ships are Triang Minic or not because you actually do not have the right to decide what they are called and I do.
Finally, our 2022 plans are made for the rest of the Falklands 1250 ships but there are no other commitments so if we decide just to stop making things and just sell what we have in 1200 and 1250 then we can.
