Paul, I think you're correct- I tracked down a photo postcard of 'Miami' [www.oldpostcards.com/s/shpp022669.html#gallery-1]
And this looks very like the model. In particular the tall funnel- the 1933 version is shorter and fatter as befits a diesel. Certainly the 2 ships are very similar.
What remains is to find some technical detail...
