Reading Kelvin's thread about the types of Leander frigate sent to the South Atlantic sent me to my 1983 copy of Jane's Fighting Ships.
It is amazing now to see how much of the Royal Navy went South. In fact an interesting question is what did not and why?
The Ikara Leanders come to mind. They were probably seen as essential to NATO in ASW ops while not bringing much to the S Atlantic.
