I loved this movie! It's great and a fine move back to form for Raimi. Really. He and his brother Ivan wrote the story before Army of Darkness and you can tell....you could put Bruce Campbell in this and have an Evil Dead 4 almost.
It's great. Scary, funny, gross...just wicked and fun all around. And Sam doesn't ease up on his star just cause she's a girl this time around. She gets beat up pretty bad a'la Bruce.
Don't give the PG-13 a thought. There's no nudity nor barely any swearing (an s-word here and there maybe) and most of the bodily fluids are of other sorts than red. Which Sam has used before to get around the MPAA.
If you saw it and didn't know the rating..you'd be surprised it's PG13. There's a scene in a parking garage which is one of the funniest, wickedest scenes I've seen in a horror movie in a long time.
Sam even uses the 1980's Universal logo at the beginning. The film is very much like the 80's horror films we all loved and worth seeing without a doubt. Lots of highlights...including a seance scene which is basically Evil Dead.
It's great, I loved it.
