Big announcement below, but first:
Well, the 2nd episode of the 5th season airs this coming Friday. The movie is a ninja flick (sligth deviation from horror, but hey...ninjas and a young Demi Moore) that's actually 2 episodes from the 1984 tv show The Master. I hope you enjoy.
Then coming up is Prisoners of the Lost Universe, another Channel 666 Primetime Movie episode and then the WOWMS episode Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter.
Then...with Dario Argento's CREEPERS (Phenomena) we will be back doing World of the Weird Monster Show episodes!
WHAT?!? I though you gave that up?
Umm...yeah.
But you didn't?
Well...we kinda did. I mean, the Channel 666 episodes had UJ and Dementia, Fester Scab, the Channel 666 new team, Zontar, Igor, Mindwarp, Uwe Boll, etc in it. So it wasn't that different.
It was different and you know it. You abused and defiled us as fans.
No I didn't! Really!
Okay, you didn't. But why the change? Did we really all hate the new show that much?
Actually...to be honest, we didn't hear too much either way. Well, we didn't hear much..but what we did was more on the "hey, I love you guys and support you...but I didn't dig it too much. Yeah, sure, I laughed, but I missed the old characters." etc. kinda like that.
Oh, we're not that bad.
You're not...and those who did contact us were a bit disappointed, but as I said, very supportive. A whole lot of "I'll just have to get used to it."
So we tried.
Yes you did! But you know what,. you shouldn't have to! Dementia said to me once when I was sharing some emails with her that I would have acted the same if it was a show I liked. (hell, god knows I stopped watching Battlestar Galactica this season because it seems as if the writers took acid from mars and decided to just make shit up and base crap around a C+ telemovie (at best) called Razor.....but I digress.) You know, I grew up on Uncle Don's Terror Theatre and you know when I liked the show just a bit less? When it became Uncle Don's Theatre and stopped showing all horror/sci-fi films.
Ahh...so it was the lack of that horror edge/halloweenish goodness you missed?
Kinda, sorta. I just felt like maybe we took four years of goodwill from our fans and love for our characters and tossed it aside a little too quickly. Again, the new show is in the same world--very much so--and you all liked it. It just wasn't the same. I don't think anybody really wanted a change but us.
But it's your show. Isn't that enough?
Yeah, but you're the ones who watch it and who we make it for. And the new format served it's purpose...it got me and everyone else energized again after 50 episodes...and got some members of the cast who had never written anything for the show, writing bits. We also learned (and are still doing so on our 3rd episode) a whole lot putting together all these short sketches. And we've introduced better film--24 frames per second, etc. Stuff that frankly I'm dying to take and apply to the old show.
But you made this whole huge deal about the new format, etc. Do you feel a bit like an ass?
Yeah. A bit. And we were originally going to do both. Probably more on the Channel 666 side, but still do some WOWMS episodes as well (cause I do kinda miss the crazy/wacky episode length plots.)

Okay, so what's the final word....what are we going to see?
You're going to see the BEST SHOW EVER! Seriously. Really. It's going to be everything you loved about the old show...with some of the better production values and some other stuff from the new show. It's pretty much going to be a mix. Undead Johnny and Dementia, etc will be back as before...but there will also continue to be a strong Channel 666 presence in the new shows. Meaning the fake commercials for other shows, etc. Not as many as an all Channel 666 episode...but there. Actually, the show will kinda be full circle to what it started as. In the first season, for those who remember, we actually used to feature a commercial in every episode. Now there will be more.
But it's going to be called The World of the Weird Monster Show and Johnny and Dementia will be back on set introducing movies and all that?

You're welcome. And trust me, it's something we would've done anyway. I miss the horror. But the new format was a very important, very useful, turning point for the WOWMS. I can honestly say that without these 3 episodes, the show probably would have stopped at episode 50 and you wouldn't see anymore of us at all.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AT FLASHBACK!!! Come visit us! We'll be at our table. This is our kinda relaxed year. As we're billed as the WOWMS players and all, we won't be in costume, etc....though Holly and Dementia will be looking hot as all hell I'm sure.
And rejoice! The World of the Weird Monster Show and Undead Johnny and Dementia are reborn again....unless I decide to quit it all and focus on that Igor spin-off. Hmmmmm.
