I planted a basjoo in the spring and now it has 5 off shoots. When is a good time to try to separate and where can a get fertilizer for the plant? I amended the soil be for I planted, but really haven't given any additional fertilizer since and I'd really like to over winter the plant(s)in the garden. This is my first try at the basjoo. I'm in zone 6 and about 2 miles from the shore.
