Hello Tony,
with regards to knowledge schools i think the best thing you can do is attend the free talk that they offer (i know Wizann & Knowledge Point both offer this). and see which one you feel happy with, you will find that the runs may differ between schools (but ether are ok,) but this does not mean that you are locked into one school.
with regards to learning points that is down to you are what you feel happy with, but I personally learn the points while i am doing the runs. only because i dont want to have to retrace the runs at a later date. and also if you speak to the PCO they always say learn the points at the start and end of the runs.
But the best thing you can do is like i said about the schools try both ways and go with what you are happy with, i dont want to say to you must do it a certain way as everyone is different.
