Posted by Scale Racing League Unfortunatly we rely on the engine builders to help keep us informed of these changes. During a conversation with David Miller earlier this week, we concluded that there was no telling just who had the piston last year and who did not.

After further investigation, and several hours on the phone with Honda, It has come to my attention that the old piston is still available from Honda.
Apparently the old piston (Part No. 13101-ZF6-W00) and rings (Part No. 13010-Z5T-003) have NOT been discontinued.
What has happened is Honda moved manufacturing to thiland, and in doing so was required to meet new emmissions standards. The new Piston design was the result.
The new Piston (Part No. 13101-Z5T-000) and Ring set (Part No. 13010-Z5R-004) are available for about $90.00 A cylindeer hone is recommended befor install. Rod and wrist pin have not changed and can be used with the new piston.
Thank you
