An annoying little genealogical tidbit that I only recently bothered to track down:
Most sources list the birth and death of Prince Michael Vlangali-Handjeri as (ca.1823 Riga - 11.3.1911 Manerbe [France]) and give no other details such as parents etc.
Well I have just received a copy of his death certificate and both birth and death info are incorrect.
He was actually born 12 Nov 1833 in Tiblisi, Georgia and he actually died 27 July 1911 in Manerbe. His parents were Prince George V-H & his wife, Katharina (maiden name unknown).
He enters most royal genealogies as the husband of Princess Louisa of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg (1836-1866, granddaughter of Duke Friedrich Christian II). According to his death certificate he was married at the time of his death to one Ida Maud Helen Ramsay who was 62 at the time (therefore born 1849/50).
