I haven't seen a 25 Things list yet where the author hasn't included a prelude of clarification for why they're doing this silly old thing. Mine and yours included (though I will say that yours is less excusey than mine, and than most). But I don't know, I think this particular kind of networking fad is sort of great. I prefer it for sure to the posting of ASCII roses on facebook walls or chain letters that threaten your death if you don't forward on cheesy stories about ghosts. I also enjoy those ones where the mentioned person is supposed to tell stories about shared memories with the writer. Fads that encourage a better relationship/understanding between people can't be bad.
It's hard to instinctively dislike someone when you know that they brush their teeth in the shower or they're trying to not contribute to tuna overfishing. (Not that I'm saying I would instinctively dislike you if I did not know these things - obviously - but just as an example.) Conversely, it's too easy to dislike or judge someone if nothing distinctive about them that might make you warm to them is clear.
So yes, down with embarrassment and on with this meme, is what I'm trying to say, and also, in appropriate facebook-esque lingo: ME 2 @ #s 5,6, 10, 14, 15, 19, 20, and 25!!!!!
