I currently have a 2.5 year old on my caseload who has recently been diagnosed with a significant hearing loss. He can not hear speech. He may not recieve hearing aids until August. I started working with him in June and I have been teaching him basic signs/gestures to get his needs/wants met. Any advice on what else I should be doing before he gets his hearing aids? It feels funny to be working with him as he can not hear speech.I am a new SLP and advice!
