I am working with a 31/2 year old with delayed expressive, receptive and play skills. She is only interested in playing with activities in her own way and rarely interacts with me. She will comment in 1-2 words on the activity but will not respond to any questions (yes/no, what,where). If I try to direct the activity away from her focus she will flip out.
I feel I am spending a lot of time trying to follow her lead but not being able to model any language or engage her. As her play is quite repetitive it is difficult to comment constructively on what she is doing.
