It is in our field, if you work with feeding aversions as I do.
Try painting with food. I use strawberry fluff to paste candies onto a coloring page.
You can make a collage of food pictures using glue sticks. This child has sensory integration issues probably and won't want to handle the sticky glue. Any substance we place into our mouths should be accepted by feeling/sensation on the hands. So, we try desensitizing. Do talk about foods. Make food with him if you get the chance.
