I have a 6 year old boy, late diagnosed Autism. He has some words but is largely unintelligible. I attempted to try some Kaufman cards with him but he seems to be inserting sounds into the words and sounds (i.e. the /i/ sound became e-ah-tuh). He is fantastic at mimicking and imitating..great eye contact and fully aware. He tries to repeat sounds and words but just can't. Is this apraxia? Anyone ever seen this? thanks
