Make a Boardmaker grid with questions on it that pertain to the child--what color is your car, what is your dog's name, when is your birthday, how old are you, what is your name, etc. Xerox and send home to parents to fill in answers. Make a corresponding answer grid, and place them together. You can make a peek-a-boo grid if you do some cutting and laminating-- child can "peek" under question flap to see answer grid underneath. Child with ASd WILL memorize--after success with grid, cut it apart and pull question/answer pairs form a hat to avoid the memorization game.
