I have a very challenging child in EI right now and I need some suggestions! He's about 21 months and has absolutely no attention span whatsoever. I have found one activity that he likes, but even that is starting to lose it's touch. I've tried every activity I can think of and nothing is working. He literally doesn't attend for more than 30 seconds. I've tried following his lead and playing with his toys, but the only thing he really plays with is a ball and a few books at home. He doesn't allow new books to be introduced-just the same couple of books. His parents are so hard to work with. They just sit there when he runs out of the room. I almost feel like they blame me for their child having a very reduced attention span. They are really hard to talk to...when I ask questions I get very short responses. I can't make small talk with them. I'm so frustrated and just don't know what to do with kids like this! Please help!
