We have just received a child who is transferring from EI to our preschool program. She has no words expressively, from what we have seen shortly. All we heard at the first transition meeting was vocalizations with only vowels- no babbling with consonants, and she did not try to repeat sounds or words. She has not been diagnosed with autism, or any syndromes (although we have our concerns). I'm wondering if anyone has a good goal to work on for one year. I have never worked with a child who doesn't even try to imitate words/sounds.
