I go in to my preschool classroom in the morning when the teacher first brings the kids into the room. This way, I can make sure my kids who use visual schedules actually USE them (teacher seems to have difficulty consistently using them during the day). I facilitate during morning work, modeling strategies for language expansion and phonemic awareness activities (they write their name and do journal work). Then I pull my kids in small group or individual and target my specific goals. I will sometimes stay for circle time or story time to model for the teachers. I think it really depends on the classroom teacher. I continue to attempt to get my teacher on board with language enrichment! It has been a long process! And each year I feel I am a bigger part of the classroom. Good luck to you!
