I have a student who I am working on /f/ with. He can do it in isolation but when we try initial syllables he sticks a /d/ in there. foo=fdoo, fay=fday, fee=fdee. etc. He can segment them so it is f pause oo but when attempting foo it becomes fdoo.
I have also tries elongating the vowel but that has not worked either.
