How is /l/ and /r/ with this child? Liquid simplification is another process you need to look at, especially if this child is missing both. I would probably use Cycles with this child and stimulate final /k/ at the beginning of every session with /ak/. Don't spend a lot of time on it, work on each cluster (pick up to 6) and do not select /sk/ or /sl/ if /l/ isn't present in inventory. You can also select final clusters /ts/, /ps/ if needed.
I have never used the minimal pair approach, so I cannot give you any information on that. Sorry.
