I have had luck using the good old dum dum suckers. Trying to tap the places which "touch" during a /k/ or /g/. When that didn't work, I would have the child hold the sucker in to prevent the tip of the tongue from moving up. When that failed, I moved on to the attempted "cough" to get the sound. With the coughing method, I found that the children then first get the /k/ in the final position. I hope that makes sense and maybe helps.
